PersonaPaper Review

This is an honest review of PersonaPaper and whether it’s possible to make money working from home writing on this online writing site. Having joined just recently, after having tried out Bubblews and banking over $2000, I thought I’d give PersonaPaper a run for its money.

Having joined earlier in the month, I’ve been making 1-2 posts/day – nothing spectacular, but away from the “I ate toast” type of posts that proliferated on Bubblews. PersonaPaper is straight forward to use – simply type in a title, choose a category, type and click submit. You can add images – either your own or images you have the right to use – and you must give an attribution for each image to verify its authenticity.

So, what about the money?

UPDATE: Persona Paper removed their payment system; they no longer pay writers.

How Much Do You Get Paid at PersonaPaper?

The site operates a system of “coins”. You are paid two coins for each unique view and one coin for each comment you leave on another person’s post. So, it’s possible to just sit and comment all day long, in theory, and make a coin for each comment. PersonaPaper Review

But is that really a good use of your time?

How much are coins worth on PersonaPaper? The value of a coin is clearly shown in the top left hand corner of the site at all times. At the time of writing this it is $0.0015 – they call this the Exchange Rate. It is the exchange rate of coins into USD.

  • 1000 coins = $1.50.
  • 1000 coins could mean you wrote 1000 comments, or it could mean you got 500 views on your post.

Going on views alone, this gives PersonaPaper a CPM of $3. CPM is an online measurement of the value of any single page. It means: If 1000 people view this page, how much is earnt. While $3 is fairly reasonable for a new writer, it’s possible, with your own website, to get a much higher CPM.

However, how do you get a lot of views to your post?  The site has few active members, currently about 1200 and isn’t growing at a huge rate.  Many find that the site is slow to move between pages, reducing the time available to visitors to view your posts.

The best way to promote your PersonaPaper articles is to promote them on social media sites, such as Twitter, G+, Pinterest, Facebook etc.  While this is possible, it’s another learning curve and extra time.  Doing this does give your article more chance of being indexed by Google, ranked higher and for it to have more longevity and the hope that maybe, one day, somebody might share one of them 🙂 Bit of a long shot, eh!  But, if you’re a social media tart, with accounts everywhere and lots of followers, then this might be a way to go.

Here is an online board I’ve set up for the purpose of sharing my articles with the wider world:

To date I’ve earnt my first $1, earlier in the week – and now my first 1000 coins.  I won’t be booking any fancy holidays on the money.

Passive Income with PersonaPaper?

There is always the potential of passive income from any page written on the Internet.  However, only time will tell if PersonaPaper produces any of this.  Over time it’d be very difficult to check your stats on your older articles to see if they’re generating regular views as there’s simply not a list of every article, laid out neatly, with that information available to you.  You also can’t put your Google Analytics code into the site to keep your own records.

Overall: I will keep writing on PersonaPaper.  The community are friendly and so it’s worth it just for the entertainment value!  If you want to start writing, to gain confidence before joining a site that pays you to write, it’s worth a go!

UPDATE: When Persona Paper stopped paying, I stopped writing on that site and removed the best of my material.
