Mystery shopping companies can provide you with a great second income, but it’s very unlikely to ever be a full-time income. Mystery shopping can fit well alongside being a SAHM, other part-time work, or even self-employment.

As a mystery shopper, you’re paid on a “per assignment” basis. The mystery shopping companies let you know about assignments they have in your area – and how much they’ll pay you to do them – and you simply pick the jobs you want to do.

With ever-increasing fuel prices, you might want to stay just local – but for people who are out and about a lot anyway, the locations you will accept mystery shopping jobs can be across quite a distance.

Most mystery shopping companies don’t pay you for mileage – but every company (and even every assignment) is different. I’ve even been offered double the published rate for jobs simply because nobody else in my area was on their list and they needed somebody to do the mystery shopping jobs – so I got a free lunch AND double pay. Mystery Shopping

We’ve put together a list of mystery shopping companies that you can investigate and sign up for. Remember: you should never pay to join a mystery shopping company or club. Some will entice you in with free membership, then offer you special rates or extra benefits if you become a member, so be wary!
